final music video

Finally I have done my final piece of music video.

Overall with the timelines and also all the errors I've had I think I produced and proud of this result.

I only had one week to film this as the lead singer in my draft had to sadly leave me for rehearsals for his exams in a panto. So I had to take the lead, the reason why I took the lead singer is because I had an clear and visual outlook upon the music and I only had 3 days left before the deadline so it was easier and had more hopes to get it finished.

Also With my hair dyed red it I come across more negative as a character. I flim the first scene and showed it compared to the draft to audience, with this feedback I was influenced to take the role;

  • Your facial feature are more sharp and you the close up looks really good. (Jake Humber)
  • I like the background, I like the way you look angry, and you give off more emotion in your lyrics compared to the other. (
  • I do like the draft version but however I prefer you in the final music video as you got red hair and the hair style used, also the beard gives a kind of tatty look and the t shirt your wearing.

After that we started filming, I took all my changes made and applied them into the music video also now in the background the top is gone and any distractions were out of the way.

I found out when we moved stuff more spacement came into play, so in the kitchen scene this time I used more props such as the milk and bowl and also using the 180 rule into more risks, as I got a different shot of the table so the viewers could experience the whole room and atmosphere of the character, I wanted to express it as tense, cold, and cowardly. To show more expression that the villain acts in the way of the hero being a conscience.

The filming flowed alot more smoother in the concepts of spacement and lighting, my teacher and people who worked in my media claimed that it was too dark in the draft version and detracted them so I took this into consideration and then applied lamps speculating onto the actor. If you look at the stair scene compared to the draft version it's alot more clear and can actually see below the waist of the villain.

Also the different scene went really well and when was filming we could see the whole narrative come clear, as the mirror was in the kitchen last time it was not in the bedroom it's in his own environment which covers the realistic but also makes the narrative stronger to audience in ways of addressing in his bedroom. It could of been on the wall or in the bathroom which is still affective but his bedroom is his own privacy and makes the conscience invade his space and get to his head more clear.

Overall I am proud for what I have made with all the errors I've had with people dropping out at the deadline and also failures with the technology in the school, it's not the best in the world or school as technical terms were limited, as only had a camera and tripod and Emacs, but I have learnt from people helping and also my applied skills I can make a music video to my standard of abilities and get critical reviews from it. (look at diary of filming).

I think looking at this music video it will be aimed the ages of 13-21 as most people said it was clear to read, the age of the actors, the fashion, and the environment as they describe close quarter and blocks out the world.

So I've covered what I needed to do and have meeted my goals that I researched and set.

The improvements that I could of made will be written up in the evaluation.

looking at drafts towards digi packs.

I wanted to show people my previous designs that I tryed to present towards my digipack.

At first, before I even started the digi pack design I looked at this album cover:

I hand drew this picture on the left from just looking from examples and the layout of the album cover of pendulum.

I copied the eyes position and also the graffiti type of atmosphere as it was good and energetic at the time.

Like where pendulum album name and artist where placed I did the same layout as it was the most useful and presentable aspect, having it above didn't look good, and below the mouth was too big and spacement was limited.

I got the mouth idea from researching on google different kinds of demon liked mouths and facial expression and then kind of transferred them into one aspect which gave me this result.

The mouth of this picture skull was transformed in my own development as you can see in the bottom picture.

When the mouth was applied yet again I surrounded with graffiti to cover any blank bit ands also makes the narrative of the story addressed across more strong due to atmosphere and age range, teenage aspect.

The top I had some problems with, I did not no weather to cover it with graffiti and copy the same design as pendulums layout or add more fire or cartooned images. Then I thought about this character and what i drew in forms of emotional contents, so I applied looking through fashion linked, and came across a jokers hat. The reason why I drawn out a jokers hat above is that it fits the realistic factors of the character wearing a hat and the joker is described as a mysterious and sly character that can cause chaos, looking from batman joker i wanted to gather the same content of the narrative in that story which the joker plays.

Overall I was impressed with this work, but there was a major problem with this also.

Looking at other peoples work and stuff it was simple and well placed, the amount of graphics I have in this picture is over done. there was too much to edit because it destroyed the overall look upon it.

When editing on photo shop I found it really hard to fill in small gabs as there where out of place when i wanted to past filter the certain part. It filled the whole page either red or green as they where the colours in my colour scheme.

So this was a major problem with applying in affects to bring out small detail, as the picture is full of detail it was not possible to apply when gabs where out and also it looked to Gothic for my standard and did not match the genre of music.

I asked People and they came back with these as feedback;

  • I love the drawing and links with the first scene of your music video but I think it does go to the rock side and has a kind of similarity with Iron maidens album covers. (Brett Thompson AGE - 18)
  • I'm Love the middle sketch but the bottom needs a bit more graffiti in there, and also the top good effort though. ( Richard Bailey AGE - 21)
  • I love the drawing and gives a funky side to the genre so I think it does link to your catchy beat in the music video. (Dawn Johnson. AGE - 43)
  • There too much detail, you need to make graffiti but bigger examples, it looks to over crowed for my eyes. (Bryani Moulds AGE - 13)

From these I learnt points in a picture which need to be carefully examined, even in the 3 sector you still need to split them up into another 3 stages. Start, Main aspect / story, Small detail linking to story of picture.

Then I looked at other peoples blogs and everyone seemed to be doing photos of themselves or the people that were in their music videos. So I took the influence of them and went in that direction as it looks more simple and gives a straight narrative instead of over crowding a picture and people get different ideas.

Linking AS work - TODOROV

TODOROV:

Starts of as the bedroom being dark and a negative impulse throughout the character is used - not normal so the audience are jumped in to place and the actions have already begun.

The disruption is that the villain is interrupted in his everyday life, this conscience that he or she has is telling him to change and quick, the hero???

The recognition is going to be a scene where the character gets a negative element / beer and go to drink when the an mirror reflects him and the conscience talking, this will indicated that the villain is reacting with the conscience but really him or herself. Also after the mirror the character runs out of beer indicating bear to drunk impulse and falls on the bed to show the impact of what happens.

Attempting to restore after the falling off the bed, I will reverse the actions in shots and then the character will use another element to resemble the past and has to move on forward in life, the last two scenes will show this turn around and when writing to him or her self the actions are reversed again and combined into a positive outcome.

New equilibrium is that the chorus will be spoken again but this time past to present and shows the combination of change, this will be the last scene to close it all off.

Costumes used for my characters.

CHRIS (playing the villain);
The fashion that I used for my villain is today modern style of clothes. The reason why I've applied and used this for my villain in the story is that the marketing brand will link towards the music video. Also it cuts down the age range barrier that I wanted 15-21. The jacket was from the shop in Leicester named 'republic'
http://www.republic.co.uk/
Republic is mostly used for teenage or young adults. The jacket is black which links in with my three colour scheme and white and black jackets seems to be on the popularity list looking from surveys from the actual site / top sellers.
The jeans are also from the same shop which the villain uses, jeans are simple and easy to use as they can be any brand, as long at the tonement of colour is right (looking for a dark blue) then we can use it.
The top is a plain white t shirt to show that the class of the narrative e.g. if colourful and energetic indicates a party or going out clothes.

Here are another three examples to compare the overall standard and why we chose this idea.

(three photos of chris)
Me (playing as conscience);
With my style of clothing I have to very careful as I'm the main singer the words and lyrics will some how have to link to the narrative in the story.
The top that I chosen I think was good, I could of used a simple white top as well but I didn't want the characters to have too much of a genetic bond as it will not show the full use of being the conscience, it would aim as a physic or something.
So a top from all saints http://www.highcrossleicester.com/website/StoreDetails.aspx?retailUnitId=c27101d9-9eed-4f2d-8711-db69a944e65b which is highly expensive and most teenage generation shop there today for fashion industry i thought was perfect.
All saints tops and designment mostly relate to life and today society, so i brought this top with a skull wearing a crown. This indicates that you can be rich but theres something evil in return but my narrative links in such ways, the villain is targeted to being rich so that he can pay for things and benefit from life in different ways e.g. paying off his house rent and saving himself from depression.
So in the concepts he trying to get a job for money that will help him survive and not throwing it away. How you no it's from all saints is that the v neck is much more lower presenting the chest more.
The jeans that are worn in the final video are from river island another top selling shop for the teenage population, this time broguth ripped jeans, this shows the working class it comes across as informal and links to other fashion scene such as Gothic and indie. The jeans are light blue and white patches aswel so it stands out with the black top.
In my opinions the fashion is like the clothes have been ripped and torn, like the person is chained up and want to be set free which is perfect towards my narrative.

James (draft version of the conscience);
Obviously this is binary opposite of my fashion, at first I just went for the indication of the hero being upper class in fashion and dress which worked but didn't. It cut out the narrative in ways off not describing the characteristic treads the words and actions. E.g. his style of clothes could be a risk of higher than the interview but then it works clothes. So I will filmed James and then got feedback as stated from my draft video.
But the fleece I think was too over the top and also boots that he wears but then over the top could be unique to some judgements.

Overall I went for the popular fashion in society today, the survey that I taken around high cross explains the overall fashion which people shop for and the age range, so it cutted it down sharply and what people want is what people enjoy and to present that in concepts on the music video I followed element from the survey.
(photos will be produced soon)

Can albums digi packs help me towards my final design?? (side covers)

Now the side cover I found a nightmare to do in my draft, I'll be honest I didn't have a clue in terms of structure and use of the mise en scene.

Now looking from these three examples again I can now find a easy route and ideas to annotate upon;

EXAMPLE ONE:

I found this examples on google. Looking at the side views they link to the whole story, front, back and where the Cd's go, so my mise en scene will have to have a strong connection as it like the main body when you open it up. It shows the story of the narrative in the album.

What I can see here is that the top two blocks are the sides and middle of digi pack.

This have given me influence to compete with another art drawing, but this time I will need to plan out as their picture as it takes two sides, I needs to be simple drawn. What i can do with the use of black and white is that I don't need to add colour it's already there so I'm having strong thought upon using these colours for my final Cd. this is good for covering and giving a bold outlook upon their narrative, it shows the audience what this is and how they response to it.

I found the structure is easy to do and very basic which I will benefit, looking from just this example it gives me the clear mind map of what is required.

As i can see the whole album is black and white, from researching black and white are good colours to research (look at 3 colour scheme final design for more detail), OK trance is colourful but in some points of the lyrics and narrative of my music video i can turn this into a trance rock type of cause. As long I have a strong narrative in use of pictures I'm fine and the front covers examples covers that.

Example two: LIKIN PARK - A THOUSAND SUNS!

I researched into linkin Park as his emotion and music are very strong for in terms of relationship with my music video.

I love everything about this digi pack, as it a kind of trance effect with the lighting and also the use of background that helps the middle frame stand out to others.
They have kept to a single photo but the photo right in front has been developed upon in the use of ideas from the black and white example.

I especially really like the front example with the use of bight and glowing colours and how they are combine together, this would be a perfect combo for my sides, maybe if I have a photo of me looking down outside or a slogan, and then have this kind of effect will work for the middle body of my digi pack.

And also this is an easy structured example of layout in colours and spacial awareness.

Example three: PEARL JAM
Peral Jam does not have a link towards music but the lyrics are and there narrative structure in the this album has.
I like how it like black and white but consists of loads of close up of body parts which indicates sudden movement and drama for mise en scene.
I like how it's outside and describes the background in a different atmosphere and environment.
And also the sides with the symbolic codes of Christ and distressed body.
The top three are yet again good for the sides, it can show a movement of story according to day e.g. by morning it starts by night it has grown.

So what I have learnt from sides points that that it has to link with the front and back in the use of colours and mise en scene, e.g. symbol will have links.
Also the sides describe the story of the album and link from the tracks suggested may come into effect.

I will therefore have one photo with colour imagery in the background.

Can album covers help my digi pack? (back cover)

The back of the cover consists of the CD one and Cd two in the back in my draft I thought the font was suitable but yet again did not look professional the colour that blended with the background did not match it quality.
Also the key is to keep as little detail in so the background is clear and people can read the track without being destroyed by other things such as pictures.

I found another 3 examples which are good to develop upon;

EXAMPLE ONE

BLINK 182 - EMERA OF THE STATE

I am looking for a busy back but I also want the tracks to be clear this is a clever piece and use of the colour code.
They have a massive picture smack bang in the middle, but at the top they have there slogan which links to there mise en scene and album in one colour.

Then where the tracks are another layer of colour is used, red and white bond well as they are primary colours.

So what I found from this is that I can have a big picture without being distracted too much, the only problem is with the background is like the after story of the front cover, and will it link up to the albums meaning. A Strong mise en scene. So maybe I could have a negative input on the front cover, but an easy going back, as my music video has a dilemma turned into a solution.

The only problem is that it might be too cheesy for some audience but I will work on it.

EXAMPLE TWO:

FOO FIGHTERS - GREATEST HITS

Yes it is greatest hits and my band is making a debut albums but this CD cover mise en scene I find very useful and strong in terms of keeping it simple.

The picture on the right is the album cover and the picture on the left is the back.

What I see here is lots of individual and professional outlet towards ticking off all the list.

I love the slogan of the band FF, it blended in with a simple shape with use of a primary colour so it stands out in the crowd.
The background is a secondary colour which blends in the primary, also the grey makes the mise en scene strong. It reminds me of the war as that kind of surface is planes and metal, and as I'm a big fan of foo fighters I listened to them and they have many links to the wear and life.

I love the simple minded use of the title and album cover name, they suck to the same font and stuck towards the 3 side rules top middle bottom, title top, slogan middle, album name bottom, I have more interest in this layout.

And what I love about the bond is that there the same background but the back is more shiny with the use of brass brown, they suck to there mise en scene and kept it tidy and well to read the story of the album.

The little bullets point next to each track I like as well as it structures the placement of track and that you can place it anywhere on the back without a fuss as long as it in this type of layout.
The spines are on the side with the same title and album name and font.
And to add a little more eye catchers that the missiles that are red are used for the normal tracks and the ones crossed off are the bonus tracks, covers, or a new release, how you know this is that the last 3 tracks have the same symbol next to them.

And last but not least they have the rights and regards 'Sony music' with all the details; release dates, band recordings, place made and manufactured etc.

And the bar code is place on the bottom simple and out the way.

EXAMPLE THREE:

GREEN DAY - DOOKIE

I like the simple quality again. With this shows the part of the story like blink 182 but then the rights and tracks placement are kind of foo fighters examples. I like the way they have underlined their tracks with the same colour, it simplifies the ways of structure and that they are all the tracks.
I love how the producer and the band are in the middle of track they squeezed it in but the audience have no problem of placement and don't get confused.
I found the bar code was different being on the top, it does work but I prefer it on the bottom but the reason I think why it went on the top so it does not damage the picture.
In the middle of the picture it has a resemblement to a tv programme, semerme street, this might be targeted for cutting down the age range???
But again the problem is google images will be required which knocks down my grade so a simple own resourced picture is fine.
And the bottom has influenced me a colour code which i will mention in the other post of advertising the bottom rights.
So from this I gained
Easy visual scenery for placement of band.
That I can have a successful picture but has to link to the front and sides.
What colour scheme I'm going to use for my final choices.
Examples of rights and reserves to make the band / artist release look professional.

Looking at realistic brands which link towards my digi pack.

Cd cover need rights and ownerships of professional labels to even consider reviews from other brands such as KERRANG, to newspapers, they will need to have rights and links so that the digi pack can be presented on tv adverts on itunes site and radio etc.
By this I mean this kind of example;

So all the example I've indicated will need to be shown on my back cover to make it realistic.

Can other albums help me choose an idea towards my digi pack ?? (front cover)

First I wanted to look an front covers of an album as the front cover provides the main attraction for the audience, if this does not stand out then the interest rate will not live up to its name and expectations so the sides and back covers will be ignored straight away.

To cut things down I linked my genre of music with other yet again, looking through the grime trance with the song tenderoni and wider resources as grime trance is not popular due to mainstream (look at marketing sectors in my blog) bloc party / indie I found these;

CHASE AND STATUS - MORE THAN THIS
I like the font for a start, big bold cover the whole section and the use of splattered colour indicates a source of mainstream.
The colours make it look club with the contrast of pink - light and loud - and black - nighttime / nightclubs.

I also like how the main artist faces are on the bottom and the use of the black colours have been used again for dramatic effect, it almost like a pop art effect.

The bands name stands out as it is layered across the top and has a white outline so If I'm using a white background this may come in handy.

The only problem is for this is that the font comes along to mainstream, it more targeted towards pop, but however by making the font look more negative; take out bit from the text and make it kind of an graffiti affect.

This is example two:

DJ FRESH - KRYPTONITE
This has a brilliant bond with my genre and style.
Dj fresh is not that mainstream which bonds well towards the standard working class of a non a lister such as Katy perry, eminem, rihanna etc.
I love the editing on the skull you can see it professional in the methods of bits being cut out and the detailed in the outlines with the tone and the black and white brings out the shading. It shows a mysterious side but the skulls represents a negative criteria e.g. death, crime, hazards.
But the skulls links well to conscience and also emotions, what I could do hear is not use the skulls but use my main artists (me) but by using photo shop cut out parts of my features such as eyes or mouth and use like the background that he has used.

The only problem with this background is that it's more than three colour, but that's easy to take care off by just keeping a pattern or some sort. But I want to adapt so it my own unique image so maybe the use of graffiti out of my mouth can describe trance but then have blood coming out my eyes to describe a negative side to the story, so that trance can be negative as my music video comes across negative and dark.

Last but not least I like how the name of artist is simple and placed out of the way it hidden kind of so that the audience gets a full profile upon the image which is what I'm looking for.

I will take this example after my draft work into high consideration.

And a final example
( I didn't want to too much as too much can be over flown with ideas).

PENDULUM - HOLD YOUR COLOUR
:
I love this front cover, simply because its powerful in terms of energy and he colour scheme.
The way the eyes is formed and placed is brilliant as it shows a kind of monster type of effect and make me think what the hell is this and the audience gets a gist of they don't no what to expect of the album as the cover expresses this, completely of the rails and unique.
The graffiti adapting from the eyes is shows in full use as the eyes is clear and absorbs and draws the audience in, the graffiti brings out the quality and effort that the artist have put in and and is not just an everyday cover.
Now the only problem with this is that I don't have the professional equipment / programme and school. But the picture that you saw in my draft work was a kind of example, unfortunately on photo shop it still did not require the right tool to compete with this.

But from this I will take the eye and the style of graffiti and could adapt upon example two.

And last but not least I love the font white and black background easy to read and see and I like the use of 'hold your colour' being in a white background anyway.

I have now learnt to keep fonts simple and well structured from all examples.
Keep the picture big and impactive with detailed background covering 3 thirds.
If taking a photo of the artist well placed shot and blends in with the 3 colour scheme.

Draft: Back Cover

With the back cover I wanted both of us to be in the picture, looking from chase and status on YouTube.com I looked at this photo;

I like the placement of the two characters and the angle on which they are standing in. I like the background of the city moving as well, this may be hard for us as I only live in a town. But this is what I came up with;

I like the format of this photo as it has a Strong bond with one above. The only thing when I looked upon it is that I'm the lead singer in the music video so I need to address my self as the leader.
Also I found that my alley way will be a lot more better as its like claustrophobic and a narrow path, it kind of addresses that you would not to meet us down an alley way and in a albums the lyrics could express this.
Also my music video come across negative in actions of thoughts and angered issues due to me being the conscience so a debate about a empty room of me and my friend or the alley way could come into use.
Our faces due to the colour contrast is darkened, you can see this from the top of the picture as my light was turned on. Also me in the background is not clear so maybe I need to be level on like the photo above. so I'm thinking of to have us just in a dark background, I'll research on recent albums such as rock and hard trance yet again.
Sticking to winter clothes is better as well as it shows us belonging in links of cold human beings and links with the seasonal aspects of being cold and dark early like my music video as its night time most of the time.

Draft: Side covers

With the side covers I wanted to involve me and my friend so it shows the characters / artist who made and what our personality is like. I came up with this;

I love the colour scheme of my layout but their is an slight problem that the facial expression are not clear and the audience will find it hard to find the defined detail so I need to mess around with that.
I liked the idea of the CD but some people did not as I did not match the realistic terms of my albums and found it a random and pointless outcome.
But now that I look back upon it the lighting is too bright and also the 3 Cd's makes it looks like we are sponsoring a album let alone ours. And they cover up half of our face so It's like what the point of even taking a photo of us.
You can see me and my friend taking the pictures in the reflection of the Cd which does not make it professional.
But overall I'm happy with the colour format and the background with the blinds, it also makes it look like projection as it shows an empty and cold room.
But the photos needs to be changed.
Looking back upon my final filming I need like a disturbed and aggressive image, maybe look at prodigy album covers again that I researched and annotated.

Draft: Front cover

This is my draft version f the front cover, looking at the prodigy I wanted a kind of same format
of their album Invaders must die. Yes I did get this off google images which will bump me back a few marks but in my final design I will copy but draw out my own resource of format. This is just an example for starters. The titles i find very good with the font and stuff yet again I got influence from prodigy albums and also Papa roach as I commented upon. the only problem with this is that the background is square and need to cut out or change the background box so it links. With black I could get away with it.

Overall I'm happy with the front cover but I will make my own drawn layout so I don't lose any valuable marks. And keep to the colour scheme of green and black.

Fonts and colour scheme for my digi pack.

In this post I am looking for hints and elements that could help me make a successful front colour.

From researching all the resources towards my final design I found that the colours white, black, and red are the most affective for mine.

I no this because the photo that I can do can be black and white, its good because it will link to the emotions used in the music video and bring of a dark atmosphere which the music video indicated.

The red indicates the parts of blood and anger which is yet again good for my screen.
All these together can keep the picture simple to read and the fonts I think will come to the best use as these colours are all primary.

RED: Red is any of a number of similar colors evoked by light consisting predominantly of the longest wavelengths of light discernible by the human eye. So red tone of colour can be dull or light but still show the emotion if it was dark red blood, light red mist or atmosphere of the background maybe. Words come under love, socialism, blood, Christmas, danger socialism and danger are useful catchphrases.

BLACK:Black is the color of objects that do not emit or reflect light in any part of the visible spectrum; they absorb all such frequencies of light. Although black is sometimes described as an "achromatic", or hueless, color, in practice it can be considered a color, as in expressions like "black cat" or "black paint". It very clear for audience and reacts like a background which is good for mise en scene and blending it in with the white. It can indicate silence, death, mystery,fear, power which all these words are useful for my moodboard.

WHITE:White is a color, the perception which is evoked by light that stimulates all three types of color sensitive cone cells in the human eye in nearly equal amounts and with high brightness compared to the surroundings. A white visual stimulation will be void of hue and grayness. Words variations come under; aryan, brave, purity, nobility, softness, emptiness, God, knowledge, lack, snow, ice, heaven, Caucasian, peace, life, clean, air, sunlight, surrender, clouds, frost. Again a mixture upon emotions.

So most of my colours come under the terms of anger danger and emotional outlooks which the audience address it as stereotypically so this has influenced me to use these colours.

Simple steps to a simple success.

In this post I was looking on smiths blog and came across a level 4 digi pack. So I wanted to look at their cover and annotate their progress and what the exam board expects, and what ideas I can get from it.

This gives a more comfortable take upon my whole digi pack. This is what I annotated:

So looking from this piece of work I have found the main elements that construct and make a level 4 piece of work.

What does a digi pack consist of?

In this post I am researching what a digi pack requires throughout and what I need to do to make a successful outcome; (the blue are the main points and the red writing is my comments back).

Digipaks typically consist of a gatefold (book-style) paperboard or card stock outer binding, with one or more plastic trays capable of holding a CD or DVD attached to the inside.
So this shows the typical layout which I need to do, the capacity has a large range and every cover will have to have different techniques into them so I need to plan out a layout of what needs to go in each individual page e.g. front cover , back cover etc.
Since Digipaks were among the first alternatives to jewel cases to be used by major record companies, and because there is no other common name for Digipak-style packaging made by other companies, the term digipak or Digi-Pak is often used generically, even when the media holder is a hub or "Soft Spot" rather than a full plastic tray.
This shows how the structure is put together and what I need to do to make the layout not illegal and what is needed for evidence to show it. Also I can now look at certain digipacks from different styles of companies and look and their ideas and see if any link to my themed song.
Digipak-style packaging is often used for CD singles or special editions of CD albums and the tall DVD Digipak (DVDigipak) is used as a premium package for DVDs and DVD sets. Because such packaging is less resistant to abrasion than jewel cases, it tends to show signs of wear relatively quickly. Licensed digipak manufacturers such as domestic U.S. printer and disc replicator Oasis Disc Manufacturing recommend coating the raw printed paper with a protective UV coating, thus ensuring greater longevity.
This shows what materials and management is needed, as our school don't have the major resources I will have to link and make it to the best outcome, a made up company. But this shows me what I need to put to make it in an professional aspect.
Also it tells me what digi-packs are used for, my target will be the CD single but I got to make an album. So maybe the front cover can advertise a link to a single release with my main artist on the front and title of the album and band and the rest like the back and middle and to combine them together. The materials and resources that I will have to use is simple plain paper for sketches or photo shop as it's more advanced than a simple sketch. I want to do a drawing but the thing is will it suite the whole themed layout, but I could scan the sketch in and edit it with photo shop to make give it more edge and impact and does it live up to it's name? So I need to research that as well. ]

So overall this shows me a structured layout of what tasks I need to do to layout my digi pack.

Layout of the poster provided

Looking from magazines that i tend to read KERRNAG magazine falls upon the impact that I want to advertise my music in.
OK it's not what I thought either due to mainstream compared but mainstream is mostly tended with trance pop and pop etc, kele runs under the influence of mainstream due to his band and also the person who he represents himself which is the main key of which exact genre you fall in.
Looking at me I have red hair, sharp facial features and the fashion I where is mainstream rock and indie, but it can get away with the genre I want to express.
I chosen KERRANG as it's an 'in your face' magazine and the fonts are funky and bright and stands out, also artist look and dress like me which I can find good example and elements in.

This magazine holds the mainstream artist's and bands to rock / indie / and hard trance / drum and bass grime e.g. paramore, the killers, hadokeun.
Kele tenderoni would fall under the drum and bass and grime aspects as no instruments are placed and also the slow bassy beat that's involved. My song have similar beats to pendulum and sub focus which are advertised in this poster and are signed on to KERRANG as well for their progress in the music industry.

This is the basic layout of every week showing the front cover;

As you can see the display page consist of the main band that KERRANG have interviewed or the photo and sub heading shows they have progressed in their own work, in my one it will be like 'noting but echoes breakthrough!'

Also to make it look like a well designated and chosen advertisement in the background it has to present the magazine title, genre, and mise en scene, the mise en scene is well place the main in middle and then covering up with offers and other bands and weekly news which I could do. I shall use the 3 colour code, the colour that I will use is red,green, and black, these colour revolve around energetic and a dark expression, exactly my narrartive in the music video.
And also it links to my hair and my characters hair (red and black).

I will have my artist / band name in the center with a photo of me and my other character within the film holding three Cd's.

The sub heading will be on the ctachphrases of an breakthorugh in the UK, will they live up to there family members?

Also I want to include a more detailed aspect towards my brand name and advertisment by doing this sort of method;

I am going to use exactly the same format of this using my three coloured code the sub heading font will be red and probably a graffiti type of text again. The photo will be me and my character face to face with an aggressive face, these addresses the mood of our album and gives a stereotype towards what kind of artist I am.
And last but not least below will be a description of interviewing us and our answers upon it (maybe look back in research in music to find answers).

Reserching into ablum covers:

After all the music video we have to make an album cover.

It has to be a 6 sided digi pack on which song I am advertising. This must involve my artists name, the title of the album, and also on the spine the name, the whole digi pack has to be connected all into one story so focusing on my style due to colours,slogans, photo placement will be crucial throughout!

Looking for starters I wanted to look at kele's main cover of his album;

The album consists of black and white so it brings out the detainment in the artist and the light and shadows reflects of the tone in the body giving him a more dominant image.

The title of the song links it meaning very well, he looks like a boxer with elements of the white tape around his hands and the clothes that he is wearing. Look at his body language he's getting ready before he goes into a match, with him holding his head down it shows that he is thinking. The hair style gives a very board stereotype of a common boxer e.g. Daivd haye is like a replica to Kele in this photo.

The chair is good for isolating the shot and the make and style of the chair makes him look commended in his own environment and makes the atmosphere more cold and lifeless. And just because it a chair it's single and noting else in the background is getting into the way. The black and white is used to hide the face of the character and the shadow use his emotions to express his image and scenery.

The obnly problem is I find this album cover boring to the age range I want to select which is the teenage asepcts.
It good for my song and artists name as it's bring of ideas of dark performances, I might use the same method of placement but either I want a energetic but negative outcome or something like this.

But in today's aspect teenagers aim mostly at moveing imagery and scenery (looking from research and marketing)

A good example for energetic and busy but negative album is this;

The prodigy has the same taste compared to my beat of my music video as I mentioned in recent posts so it already has a good connection.

Right at the start of my video my facial expressions are the same jester and method also. The black and white brings out like a robotic and demon kind of effect maybe using the colour of red for the face could bring out more graphical connotations. The text placement and style is easy to wack on as well maybe a wrapped kind of effect or a graffiti styled to bring of the expression of the bands performance and genre that is taken upon.
And listening to their songs and whole album it relate to this front cover which I need to take into consideration.
So overall this album cover is an perfect example of eliminating and development for my front cover.

Fliming diary

Nov Monday 1st Nov: Today went really well, structured great and people where on time, done all the internal shoots as was dark around 5:15pm. Things I could of done better is re take shots 3 times.

Nov Tuesday 2nd Nov:
Fairly alright some shots ended up laughing and had to wait for about half an hour to calm down, overall got scene 1,3,4 done =)

Nov Wednesday 3rd Nov: Very good day well structured and done it quick of the mark took bout hour, got all my shots and ready to edit tomorrow as have the whole day off =).

Sunday 21st Nov: Went to rubbish, I was ill and my friend had to go somewhere due to family concerns, so what we are going to do is spilt the final into section and do the internal 1st and external second.

Monday 22nd Nov: Looking positive with all of the internal criteria tonight, so be fairly good, the problem tonight is that one of my people is coming about 6ish but I got until midnight if we have to go on as deadline is this Friday.

Tuesday 23rd Nov: Very good as alot of problems occurred. Our main actor in the draft version had panto rehearsals so he could not do the music video. We had a major problem, as I dyed my hair red and linked to the mise en scene me and my other actor though I would be suitable for addressing and taking the role of the lead singer. I had confidence already because of the lip syncing with mike and josh. Myself and Chris (other actor) finished off all the work and ready to import on emac, I just had to press play, position myself and do the scene.

Also my cousin agreed to being the main boss for the interview, with his height and age he was perfect for being a dominant role model.

Overall it took 2 hours but felt like 1 very happy that it was all done on this day.

PHOTOS FOR EVIDENCE OF FILMING:

This is me placing the camera around the scene of Chris walking in the kitchen. We were debating on weather having the camera at this angle or weather to have it facing the other way.

Where I was was a tight squeeze to do it and also broke the 180 turn rule so we decided to place the camera where the direction of the photo has been taken.

Remember this photo well. Was on the Sunday date, stressed out and ended up pointing and ordering my actor around as he was lacking motivation. I was pointing to indicate that he should be there and apply to my autocratic performance of instructing him.

Overall he obeyed and we finished the scene in 50 minutes.

This was on the 1st day of recording, I was debating either to have the camera low and close. But my actor Chris and James (taking photos) said that it would be better to have it low but mid shot so I could get the full body language of him getting out of bed.

We kept clothes on the floor so the character looked messy and didn't care about his hygiene.

TV and xbox in background was fine as linked to a typical teenage / young adult room and cant hardly see them so mise en scene was used best to ability.

We agreed to keep the posters as they are rock and the genre of music can show energetic anger and negative impulse.

Last but not least the shots of my actor coming out of bedroom and out the stairs, from this point we decided it was too tight and came up as close up's so I decided to stand on top of my cupboard just behind me and do a overhead pan shot as you can see in the final version.

This was on the last day. And the door in the background was closed and door removed for mise en scene purposes.

Is there any point in 'buying' your fans?

This post I'm researching the profit teams and companies which get the word out there so that the fans now where the formal (sorted) festivals and gigs are and also the selling market which consists of selling their albums bu different media.

Looking through research on the Internet this is media marketing all ready, it shows me the relationship of the power of music can provide, so newspapers and articles and critics can either broadcast their opinions, if their professional bbc.co.uk news is they are semi professional (student at uni) they blog it and show links on large social networks such as facebook,twitter,bebo, netlog etc. And if they just want to bring their opinions across then it will be blogged or commented on the fan base page e.g. someone can say "you were amazing last night worth the money" to the killers or muse fan base etc.

COMPANIES UPON MARKETING MUSIC;

Unsurprisingly, new companies have emerged that are intent on profiting from the increasing desperation of artists and start-up record labels, in the same way that modelling agencies prey on young, naive hopefuls.

A really good example is that the average person will have a phone today (mostly teenage) and the biggest phone network "O2" have been involved with to promote their companies but also the music business that they are supporting;
O2 priority has started in the last 8 months, this consists in the music industry advertising mainstream bands and giving out chances to win tickets e.g. on TV they are advertising foo fighters playing at the Milton bowl, this increases advertisement to music as o2 advertise their network while foo fighters are being advertised as well so both companies benefit from income of money.

Also promoting now O2 academy this lets up-coming bands and middle listed bands play around these facilities, from Leeds to Bristol to Nottingham to Birmingham to even my local city Leicestershire.

All sorts of bands and artist of different style play at these from plan b to B.o.B to bowling for soup, this boosts popularity for them bands to get more support and money to upgrade and keep their band.

In mainstream concepts in Birmingham the LG arena is used for high listed band how i no this is that I went to watch Paramore last night but other bands such as Katy perry to pixxee lott plays so its not just national bands it European bands as well, more fans come and see and more money is raised LG arena to hire out bands to play, so the band and LG arena benefit from income. And I gotta make a cover for CD, merchandise is sold at every venue to profit the band and shows the increasing numbers of performance and popularity to the band.

An example of advertisement in the O2 academy is;
http://www.o2academyleeds.co.uk/
Also o2 academy's are based near university campus, as students will have money and want to endure entertainment at night time and get a break away from reality they can endure their favourite bands, this is also good for placement as they are city's and people from a distance can google map or 'sat nav' or 'tom tom' the address to get there as well or even o2 does a sat nav built into phones!

How this advertisement is born is 1st advertisements or shows off the TV - e.g. X factor has live bands on the Sunday night and links to mainstream e.g. Rhianna has played a live show which leads onto the 2ND element. People watching either go on the Internet on computer or even phones now to comment and chat about the live performance which increases the fan base more which lead into more elements.

Next the artist themselves will comment on their performance on their own twitter which fan follows or higher responses interviews which can be watched on certain channels on TV e.g. reading festivals interviews (sky or red button on free view), but even more higher elements can go on, radio one (biggest world wide radio marketing company) has live performances on the radio and interviews with bands and artist which grows their profit and the bands advertisement, also now webcam are used in the studio so brings more entertainment of reactions of the artists and DJ presenters, it gives an more visual benefit for fans and shows a promotion in technology in the radio stations performance, you can watch them live or recorded, this also applies to live performances from their festival (radio ones big weekend) which is on their official website or their rights to up coming events - http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/events/

Radio is the mother of advertisement band can be advertised from past events either shown on the events list to being spoken by a personal DJ to being on the homepage which an article of their success in the music industry, but the main place to is in the top 40 charts as listed one there , radio one have right to the UK top 40 and shows an interactive charts so that fans can listen to their daily favourtited and loved bands, this can be found on the homepage - http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/. Also radio one advertises up coming gigs but mostly it the individual venues that advertise the band, they will pay for the band and then posters or facebook quotes will be spoken on the Internet to advertise their offers or even their own website. Also before fans going in to watch their bands staff come round asking customers if they wants daily updates of band playing at there place. But YouTube is like the radio as well in our days, all the newest music videos can be shown and even copy and pasted in personal post on twitter or facebook so yet again this increasing Internet tabbed links of progressed music videos and music video shows the feelings of the band emotions through the video and shows their family of lyrics and albums which fans subscribe to or can leave comments below the video, in the comment can advertise gigs or related bands so every band benefits to improve or people looking at ferminilar bands and if your a member it recommends music videos for the person to watch which consists of un signed bands or artists having a chance and shows how popular they are as it being presented in this element.

The next biggest advertisement is TV new channels can show highlights from festivals to high populated TV shows (X factor, MTV awards).

To start playing at national venues they will have to been signed by global companies and management, e.g. Paramore were originally supposed to come out on Atlantic Records but the label's marketing department decided it would be better for the image of the band to not have them attached to a major label. They instead released their music through a cooler niche label in Fueled by Ramen. Head of Warner Music Group.

When bands or artists go global they will go to global TV channels MTV awards to Britain awards and certain main bands will be nominated by the public to will the best album award of the year etc.
This increases TV advertisement and music industry as live performances will be shown again and fans can pay for tickets to watch.

After that the lime light shines on the bands or artists, they will play at big venues all over the world from Wembley stadium in London to Madison square gardens in New York and they will be advertised in magazine and albums on itunes and in local stores such as Virgin stores as virgin is the largest promotion for the music industry and also advertised on TV.

How this helps me is that is shows the scale factor of performance in music today and the power of advertisement in bands or artist to get to where they are now. Also it covers the range of popularity in research and back up's any issues that people question me to do this this related theme.

Also it shows how my advertisment can show populairty with use of internal or external uses of media.

Final thought and changes towards my final Design

This lesson I watched my music video 3 times but I looked for errors within my music video, to be honest I found quite a few issues this is what it came across;

  • At start I want the narrative to be show in full detail so maybe a interval will help, a 20 second scene that will show the actions the villain is held reasonable for after crash it skips into the song and 1st scene.

  • 1st scene needs to shot again but the character more cold and lip sync needs to be perfect, also the curtains needs to be drawn or change into a really dark room with just a light, makes the atmosphere more tense.

  • 00:26 - 00:28 character needs to show the anger maybe fast shakes of head and evil eyes this video below of Robbie Williams shows the perfect solution;

So now I'm addressing my conscience towards being a demon aspect, how I'm going to do this is do a shot of him shaking his head but speed up transition and at my house I have a light which dims so I can use that for the lighting affect.

Also every shot I do I gonna have the hero being more aggression in body language and speech to address him as the dominant person and overpowers the villain.

It will build up throughout until the villain realises that he's getting helped by this demon / conscience, at first the audience will think negative of the heroes but in the end he will turn out positive.

  • When getting out of bed and going downstairs needs to be alot more skecty and clear, getting out of bed is OK but I don't think its that realistic when changing clothes, at the door frame coming out of the room it needs to start then. Also the lighting and stairs was a major problem, it did not look realistic and did not go to the beat. So we will re shoot that part again but I will put lamps underneath the camera showing more light so my villain is clear to see.

  • Mise en scene in scene 2 was 'over busy' due to peoples comment, they like the setting but things such as chairs up on the table, and in the mirror there's a washing basket, the 99 shirt near the front door, and last tenderoni shot there a plant and food in the background. so it over does and ruins the narrative, it would be good if the lyrics linked to a party life.

  • The interview was not realistic at all and did not work, because of the time of deadlines we just had to find a room and shoot, the actions in the interview where perfect but the setting and costumes where out of place. As I'm in there wearing a cage fighting jacket is simply does not have any meanings to an interview, the person hiring the villain needs to be more dominating in clothes and kind of be-littles him and makes him the down grade to working class. The mise en scene just needs to be a room with a calm mood white, blue, or cream walls. Also I need to be changed for another character as I'm too young the character needs to be older to represent like he been in business for long. If it was to be perfect sharp face, big body posture, motionless expect towards job.

  • I think to make the narrative more affective and powerful we need a key frame, so looking back from start to finish we need a scene in the graveyard. Before we even start the music video there needs to be a 20 second clip showing the narrative in an clear scenery showing the villains actions which are held to judge his emotions after. So I need an girl and a villain in the car, the girl is driving and the villain is drunk, they have an argument. The argument connontates that the girl is annoyed with his drinking problems and not going to work, he grabs the girl and ends in a car crash, obviously I don't have professional stunt men and can afford a car to crash, so It will go to a black screen but the sound of car schreeing and crashing is heard and then the screen will flash white to start the song. If there was a link to a kind of video towards this it would be this;

This shows the relationship of the hero and villain, the dark night and thunderstorm link the emotion of the characters and anger and makes it more affective and tense. Obviously this is too long, but just the villain getting in the car, the car stating, the argument and then crash it should be no longer than 30 seconds which make my music video 5 minutes and not too long for the audience and bores them.
For the key frame a scene of him standing at a grave needs to be used throughout the film, it jumps back to him at the graveyard but with different clothes just staring showing that the girl is dead from the car crash and shows his dilemma in life which has made him worse and the conscience is the background staring at the villain saying you need to change who you are. The last shot will show him throwing down flowers or ripping up a sheet of paper like the interview and then skips to him raging in the house and slowly turning into a positive character, this is the best method as it shows the heroes conscience emotions and bonds into the villain turning him so throwing stuff and banging tables shows his turning and then the sheet of paper of him writing shows his turn around.

  • The mirror needs to addressed in a different room, it's pretty random that its shot in a kitchen it needs to be in the bathroom or bedroom, we might use the same mirror it depends of the room bedroom would be more ideal as bathroom is cramped.

  • I'm changing the scene 2, I want to bond some of lyrics towards the video the lyrics that are saying 'I no your thinking murder, driving in your fathers car, I will not let you disappear' I want the villain walking and getting in his car but the conscience being more negative and graphic towards him, getting in his face changing his mind. Then the lyrics ' not your fault, not your problem, not one to apologise' in an alley way of the villain being angry but the hero is still being aggressive. 'If you want tough I give you tough villain opening backdoor but them eye to eye shot skipping him to the interview scene.

  • Another new scene is going to be used hopefully, as I no the owner of koggy bar I want the villain in a pub falling of his chair but in slow motion, if we cannot have the pub then at home he could fall of the chair in the kitchen, but I want it in this addressed in speed.

But looking at this video I could make it more aggressive and powerful, I could have the character walking out the pub drunk and harassing another person (me) and then punching him and use the same affect as this, this will be used instead of the park scene and keep flashing back scenes as he's falling to the ground and then the eye transition to the graveyard.

  • The 1st tenderoni will be the same but in the bedroom as it looks more realistic for the mirror to be placed in. The last one however will be a montage of past scenes but every letter shows his past the second time shows him in a job and the the 3rd tenderoni is the conscience and him speaking to each other, this keep the audience clued and yet again shows more narrative.
  • Finally a silly mistake of mine is that we had a wine bottle which shows the femine side as usually male gender does not drink wine unless its a posh party, so this time a Carling out of a can will be used as it's more common and a strong beer to show the villains side more clear.

So really I'm just changing the scenery and adding on time to make my narrative more affective and stronger so the audience get the best possible look upon understandment. It keeping the same camera work as people liked that jester but transfer in this film.

Feedback

We can see you have spent a lot of time on this Dan- your variety of camera angles is visually interesting. - This indicates I made a solid draft and the meaning came across nearly clear and I got the movitavtion which i'm proud of myself.
Now you need to:
1. Re-film using a complete plain back drop because the house is too distracting.
2. There needs to be clarity regarding your
'conscience' character- is he good/ bad?? address costumes too. If he is your inner artist make him more cutting edge (look at Empire of the Sun).
3. Job interview scenes need addressing as not realistic.

If you get this right this could be brilliant- frame your shots, eliminate your mise en scene and address your lighting.

This is my feedback upon my draft music video to improve, for what I did I was pleased with my draft it i knew it was not perfect for one minute because it was not but it was good to get a rough version and no what goes where, all I need to do now it fit in the pieces to the puzzle.

ANSWERING QUESTIONS:

QUESTION ONE: For question one is simply easy, I was not thinking about the background, I think the house is good in the way off showing the narrative of the villain being in his own environment and showing day in day out, but i do understand the background that it make the narrative look messy e.g. washing basket on side board photos on wall, 99 t shirt near front door.
I will overcome this issue with taking them out of the shot or doing it at another house, the only problem is finding the right house I don't want it too modern and posh because it says that the villain is rich anyway.

QUESTION TWO: For question two I completely understand what the the viewers want, they want a more realistic figure / role model of showing his lead, when looking back in the interview scene he's not there or the last scene and I need this characters to stay in all the time, the problem was my character had rehearsals and work for himself, I think the dress scene goes well but probably change the jumper as it shows too much mainstream and calmness.

I was told to look at this video I picked this one as it has a mysterious background and region which I found interesting to analysis in comparison of who my artist represents in concept with my lyrics and narrative as well.

I focused my main aspects upon the lead singer and what he represent in their music video, looking at it the dress scene has been put down on tee, it shows where abouts they are and the mise en scene of the Forest and desert shows their meaning of lyrics - so it like nature is talking out to the audience in my view, we are the people who ruled the world, this says the past and shows it through wildlife in background.

The culture that they represent has shows that their culture is different to normal everyday life and links towards the Indians so they had to take that into consideration to make their music video realistic.

the mise en scene lives in the outdoors so the colours shines out the emotion of lyrics and presents an effective and interesting layout. The dancing indicates there body language thier own feelings towards the song, overall it shows the past in a psotibve outlook due to the colour, daylight, and the way the charatcers are placed in the middle of the shot and the costumes that they are wearing.

How this music video helps me is to shows that the costumes my character is wearing has to link the the lyrics, mise en scene and body language, they all have to combine into one element to make my narrative shine out.

QUESTION 3: I totally agree with the comment about the interview, we had a major problem on the day of filming which i admitted on my filming dairy in the blog post, because our main singer was ill on the day he was not there and we had 3 days till the deadline so we had to do it asap which I will take into consideration.
Also my dress scene was not realistic at all due to the slogan of 'caged steel' on my jumper and my hair was scratchy which does not show the full meaning of the job.
Also the mise en scene made it look at it was at school, I need a more close quartered room colours of black and white and just the shots showing the table and people.

My villain was dressed well but the person that was interviewing, needs a white formal t shirt, tie, hair tidy, maybe clean shaven showing upper class, and dark trousers, and maybe a black jacket, only problem the black jacket indicates something else maybe but a logo could help on the shirt.

Very useful links to music video and Marketing

In this post I wanted to look at the music industry in marketing and what links shows my individual music video in the ladder of populairty.

Also I wanted to look for elements that would help me look at my music video in competetion to equal up to it's standard.
Also in a way it cover my age range as well so I can look at today society target audience and what song they are looking for and my music video falls upon.

In decades gone by, misunderstood teens with questionable personal hygiene would gather in cramped independent record stores to share excitement about new music, enthuse about rare singles and discover other lost souls with a passion for southern Californian cowpunk.

This basically states that teenagers are always looking unique and individual artists, as artist show their own passion and emotion towards the music industry and turns them into a role model to the targeted audience. Good elements that show this is Lady Gaga, for her bursar fashion e.g. bubble suite, and meat suite, but Rhianna, Katy perry, and beyonce have followed her fashion in Small elements but they express it in their own aspects and link it toward their genre and style of their songs.
Also the music has to be aimed at all types so the lyrics has to be powerful and link to other people as they will have a different look upon different as everyone has a a different outlook. Love is the most powerful emotion in past and today's aspects most love links with family, friends so partying and having fun (teenagers age group), so songs today such as roll deep green light covers a flirting way at a nightclub which most times when teenagers are out they look for this or act in the same way as the people in the music video.
So it has a high range of popularity as it's a common human thing to do which increases the narrative clear so songs can be changed if needed, mise en scene and narrative e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd_4OrFH3EU&feature=related
love shy it starts with students being shy and then dance to show thier emotion. But in this video either teenagers look for narrative and would they do that when out? And a different artist and style have taken upon the style but expressed it in thier own way;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOgBFL6bJTY This is the same type of narrative but instead kids are dancing in the school instead of out and you see the teachers villians cahsing them, so in a way it spilts two age ranges into one, teacher adult generation, students teenagers and young children.
Also news are used in music channel to describe daily updates of what there favourite artist are getting up to in the world and also twitter is perfret for showing celebritys every day life which leads on to this paragraph;

But with the number of independent record stores in terminal decline and the boundaries of the internet limitless, online music social networks have sprung up to meet the demands of gregarious music lovers who want to share ideas and loves.

This says in todays aspects that they have targeted the interent to sell music and find the main artist that the audience --> mainstream, this shows more music and the popularity increase, YouTube subscribes people and shows the views to show new releases and music videos performance in popularity, twitter shows people following and supporting artists and bands artists can talk about their life and also advertise offers and deals in a way e.g. free downloads or free t shirts it an address attachment to fill in etc. Even the radio one sites aims to be popular as it have the rights towards showing the top 40 and also DJ have their own thoughts and twitter to show their favourites from their the ABC list on the actual site and shows boardcasted.

Also with the Internet ssocial networks were putting the power of discovery into the hands of fans, said Dave Haynes of Soundcloud, another social network where artists can share music. "In the past, there were just a few gatekeepers to music, and you had a powerful network of labels, A&R men, radio and TV executives and magazines who decided what you should be listening to. Now, it's so much easier to find out what your friends are listening to or what other people who like the same music on the other side of the world are recommending."

Also it gives chances for UN signed bands and people ideas to share among YouTube, the views show the taste of popularity and any gender or age looks on YouTube. To cover the negatives about online social networking the traditional bearded men behind the counter of record stores, ready with dozens of new music recommendations, haven't gone lots of those men behind counters have just moved online now, broadcasting their tastes and acting as arbiters. Now they can reach a more specific and worldwide audience rather than just the people in their shop.
The power of social networking can give daily updates of actions that took place e.g.

More artists are using social networking sites to bypass the traditional media. This weekend, rapper Kanye West took to Twitter to tell his side of the MTV Video Music awards controversy where he grabbed the microphone from country music sweetheart Taylor Swift and announced that his friend Beyoncé should have won.

On Saturday he apologised, saying as a result of the debacle he had to cancel his tour with Lady Gaga and lost employees. He wrote: "Man I love Twitter … I've always been at the mercy of the press but no more … The media tried to demonise me".

So overall;
By collaborating with big record labels and corporate giants desperate to get hold of users' personal data, social networks risk alienating the people they are attempting to bring together.

But is this positive or negative now, has it ruined music in some ways, yes because copy write and illegal downloads are taking place, but still the advertisements and media is very strong and music is being cutted down;
People were becoming more concerned about data mining and heavy-handed marketing. What the media are trying to do is put the heart and soul back into online music communities.

People need a place where they can enthuse and discover and they are doing it for the love of it, rather than the profit factor. Music is too important to be left in the hands of the music business.

How this helps me is that it shows the power in today aspect through the use of technology, now that we have Internet to the media its a probably the heart of advertisement in today's aspects.
This shows me then main parts and structure on what fans look for and where they get their music from, so my music video and track would be better if it's mainstream as more people no it, but non mainstream is still good as it's unique and thats my aim that I want. Overall I want to look for a band or artist thats popular but not the storngest mainstreams.

Weather conditions for filming;

Filming on 27th October 16:00 - 18:30 29th October 16:00 - 18:00 30th October 14:00 - 18:00
