My final choice on my music video;
I was going to pick bloc party flux but looking at it in realistic terms - mise en scene and costumes and the tempo and pitch of the song I would make it but not as successful in performance.
But looking at Kele tenderoni it linked to me straight away before I even carried out the survey I just thought that people will not like it but looking from my survey results it gave me confidence to do it. But also the good thing is not many people notice this kind of song so I can make it to be unique which will have more effect in the interest and makes it more successful as well.
This is the format of the song I will use for my music video;
The only problem I found with this music choice is that the song is 4 minutes and an half.
Our class has been recommended around 3 minutes, and also as I'm working individually it may be a problem to start the deadline.
But I do have an advantage of having the whole of Thursday off so I can use that time to record my music video.
The reason why I picked this song is because the first time I heard I had a connection to it and loads of ideas shot from all of my research and covered the music links as well.
Also as I do DJ at peoples parties I'm used to hearing the tempo and have an idea of what people expect out of certain song, this song is not known so I use my ideas as an unique format, so I don't have to worry about being realistic.
Also I've got high confidence within this song and it's easy to listen to, unlike rap the words and lyrics come up to fast and the tempo can change in a split second sometimes, this is same with flux the background tune is very fast so the movement in mise en scene will have to be high.
It's a calm and flowing tempo and beat, and its continuous throughout the whole video, so maybe
I can repeat shots as well to make the narrative more affective, for example - Kele everything you wanted was the same calm and fine, but it's too slow and boring to listen to and the audience might get bored within 20 seconds of the clip as the tempo can meet my ideas.
With this music video the pitch and tempo keep to a continuous beat and speed but the tempo changes every 20 seconds which keeps the song on-going in interest.
It meets my research for mise en scene and pitch as I want it to be mysterious, from listening to the voice it's like a kind of echo when singing, this might be hard for lip syncing but it can be manageable as my friend who is doing the lead singe has had experience in drama A levels.
Also so it's energetic and fresh so it good for linking the movement and body language of a young teenager, so it makes my research look successful. Also the clothes are fine as well as they blend in with the mise en scene and beat.
And last but no least the music is clear to hear and suitable in language, there's no swearing or connontation to rasism or any sexaul contents.
Practising in new media research for my band cover and name;
We had one lesson which I found a fun exercise to do if I'm stuck on finding a band name;
- First we had to go on wikapedia and click for a random article, whatever the title of the article that came up, thats what we had to have.
- Second we had to on to flickr which, and then click for picture the bottom left hand sidfe of the picture would be the ablum cover.
- Last we had to come up with the ablum name so yet again wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page) saved the day.
We could place it anywhere but these three bullet point had to be presented upon.
This is what I came up with;
Overall I found this excercise really useful, I gives a basic layout of what is expected for a ablum cover, looking at this I think this falls in the genre of indie and probably has a stong connection with 'the artic monkeys' ablums, so from just messing about I can can find connections and also a rough layout of a ablum cover. And also covers me if I get stuck with finding my band or artists name.

Audience profile
The main feature I looked at on my blog was the survey results, and also in the narrative I was studying the lyrics aimed to maturity in being able to understand the story of the song, also the type of genre changes everything, as this gender has a dull and murky atmosphere and sound in the beat, tempo, and pitch and also a dull whispered voice it changes the whole concept of the entertainment to the audience within the gender and age.
But with this outcome it spoke out the true meaning of age group it falls under, the only problem is would this type of music compared to the music industry today would be heard in the terms of a unique style?
This is what I took into consideration because the song and my 'based artist' that I chosen could go wrong in the terms of not being known and people don't pay attention to it, so my music video will have to have a impactive response throughout the whole filming.
With competition in today's society pop has a major impact upon the music industry, it's been round for decades and every year it develops into the style of today's world and what any type of person expects. Pop is mostly aimed as commerical recorded music and often oriented towards a youth market, usually consisting of relatively short, simple love songs utilizing technological innovations to produce new variations on existing themes. Pop music has absorbed influences from most other forms of popular music but also through influences of rock and roll and the early rock stages as they were popular in the 1960's - 1980's and even in today's society is still popular e.g. KERRANG! But this helps in rock concepts as bloc party has guitar playing in the background and is a band, but yes I'm focusing on just Kele aspect but it thrives off this artist and you can hear links from him to bloc party and bloc party to his individual music.
So popular stations such as radio one will want them to record there song and then can be presented on their radio station and others such as merica, Leicester sound, the hits radio, kiss radio and most of these radio stations hit the European and global economy not just national, so I might have to think outside the box in some elements to response to different cultures of taste to music for e.g America compared to Britain due to their known celebrity lady gaga to pixee lott etc.
As this song did not hit the mainstream factor it changes the concept of the popularity and what age group will have leisured time to listen to it and support it. Looking through others artists in the popularity concept I could compared links to lil wayne, lil wayne is known but it not known enough in popularity to hit the main books. Normally you will lil wayne release an albums and hits the adverts or plays live at awards ceremony's or does feature in popular songs e.g. Eminem feat lil wayne, so he looks for his same genre but Eminem is very popular but lil wayne gets credit and popularity from it as well, so this helps in what links this song and artist adapts to.
But overall lil waynes progress only get's shown in the C list and not even the B and A lists, he shown in popular organisation for a short period of time, C Lister's normally only make it to vat least 25-40 in the hits chart unless they are only release and could progress on into the top 20 or even 10. Also will this song sell it the most important issue, as I download of itunes I have some knowledge of popular tracks, e.g. Katy Perry's new album will be on the main home page with a big price tag by the side of it and maybe a bonus track. Not so popular will be in a massive list to find and this could be a problem as so many bands or artists are waiting on that list and due to money people might not be able to afford it.
But when I look at this I would lower the price and also my based artist does gigs so maybe the tickets will be lowered for the fan base.
How this helps me is that I no a estimated target to hit if I was aiming it at the music charts and want to do my music professionally as possible so it like a challenge to aim it to and what the audience expects.
I also with this made a survey but this time aimed at what the age groups wants and expects I survey groups of 30 heads within these sections;
Children - 5 - 13
Teenagers 13 - 21
Young adults 21 - 27
Adults 27 - 50
Elderly 50+
So from looking at my survey I've cut it down from the different peoples age and gender from their point of view. This has made my research more accurate in terms of the class level I need to work to.
looking from my survey mostly it's revolved around the mainstream factors as I mostly expected, but I'm interested that a few people wanted to look for new band, and this is only out of 30 heads so what would a crowd of 1,000 be like?
This gives me a small mind map of what I need to aim my targets against my audience and what individual things they expect.
I am going to focus on the teenagers and young adults as they mostly revolve around the terms of where my music video stands within today's society as it's more realistic to its standard.
Also as my song runs uder unique and non rock and mostly aims at trance and house but also a hint of mainstream (C list - look on radio one website -
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/playlist/) it delivers a message through the lyrics of it being free as an individual person and don't run away from your purpose in life and what you want, also it lines of love e.g. ' every time that we kiss, it's central on a holding back don't be quick to pull away' basically whatever your desiring don't hold back on it and go for it.
I like it because it kind of has a link to upcoming bands and solo artists as well, that don't give up as there is hope out there even if you don't make it as far, there's always another door open for success which Kele has fulfilled, so my based artist is a good role model to others as well in style and lyrics and the way his sound delivers his mise en scene and narrative.
Also what I'm going to deliver inflicts upon his meaning and has a strong bond and inflicts people in other opinionated ways so it's helping Kele look at it from a different person point of view.
This song will mainly aim at the male gender as it club and trance and the lead singer is male as well, and in the music video its mostly women dancing so it will have hardly any interest, there will be some but not as much as in the female gender.
But overall this has to relate to it's standard and also influence through music video and the mise en scene e.g. streets, people walking in background is it clear or busy movement?, place outside inside wide open spaces?. And does not aim at terms of physical activity and the song does not inflict anger as some link to people training at the gym as it's fast tempo and loud pitches for them.

Creating my fictional character and band name;
So looking at fashion mixed in with my mise en scene research I came to this measurement;
(Photo of James in designer wearment) uploading problems be done asap
Looking at today's aspect with society the fashion trends have increased massively, if my music video had a fast tempo throughout I would of looked at the party trends meaning sparkly tops, big writing or a cartooned logo on the front. If it was rock then I would of looked at busy clothes with skulls, guitars and cards etc.
for cover of latest music video) 'Mike posioner Cooler Than Me' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7S_H1KDjW9Y&ob=av2n
Obviously why I have researched this kind of genre is because it relates to my genre, but also i took fancie dress into consideration, it can describe emotions of what people think they are and maybe the lyrics could of related to their outlet upon there dress scene.
Also the amounts of people in the background can change the whole atmosphere and narrative of the music video.
Looking at Kesha take it off - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1_CUYFODSk
The start of the mise en scene is in a desert, so people think its deserted and tense, but the start of the song is been used as an robotic voice to annotate what type of song it is, and they can get away with it because of the dress scene relates to the mise en scene and lyrics.
This song about people only come out at night and we are like freaks to nature, like some lyric 'water bottle full of whisky in my handbag' so they used everyday life equipment but transferred the negative 'whiskey' into them.
Slipknot - Trivium - Awaken demons - as these consists of heavy metal and the mise en scene is mostly revolves around of a band and either in a abstract world of them on the stage showing there progress in work.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_rUk_DGGCk this is an perfect example of what I need to be careful of narrative and linking upon stereotypes and missing in different genre as it will complicate things, so this gives me a visual outlet of what is expected in different genre.
And last but not lest this is the fashion not to look upon;
This represents the different genre of rock and punk which im not searching for I can just get away with indie clothing as its today fashions e.g. Kings of leon radioactive.
So overall I want my artist to relate to my photo of the finshed process and the mise en scene and factor on the postive correlation of this post.

Narrative theory - linking AS work 5 codes
5 CODES:
- The enigma code: Basically a teenage student that hasn't achieved much in life and continues the negative same day. After each day it's get worse and worse with alcohol intake and not giving a fuss about the concepts in life.
- The action code: A non physical way but emotional elements will be considered throughout the narrative and shows the impact of what can happen is the villain continues in the same way.
- The semantic code: The main characters is used as the conscience looking from eminem and Dr Dre's video on my blog the villain will completely blank out and walk past and not look face to face to the main character indicating that he or she is not in the same room.
- The symbolic code: My character is dress in teenage clothes to indicate the age range, also the t shirt is black and ripped jeans are to inform a scatty lower class, but as my song is mainstream they are today's fashioned clothes that are popular e.g. the top is from all saints. Also I have red hair it links with my 3 colour code and red is the use of anger and can address the negativity more clear. The villain wears today fashion to symbolise today fashion and links to mainstream e.g. red light roll deeps, the fashion that the artist and people in the background wear .
- The cultural code: The house is used a typical element of middle or lower class standards, the beer is used to show lower class e.g. if was 'wine' or 'Jack Daniels' it expensive alcohol. The scene of the interview shows the upper working class in life and my character shows this by the costume he's wearing.

Moodboard for music video;
Looking through research this is what type of mood settlement that I am looking for. With these elements within this moodboard is that I can look at the obvious within finding the most possible success in my music video.
Looking at the elements that I have found these are the reasons why;
- Topman and River Island - The reason why I chosen these is because I'm am looking at the fashion trends and what would be suitable to match my artist and also mise en scene and genre of the music video.
- NME magazine - This is to show the genres that I'm looking at also it good for after the music video if I was to advertise it on the front cover 0r in the magazine.
- London - London links very much to the narrative, as it's a popular and is set out to be richest place throughout of Britain I look at it in the same content of the lifestyle and money to live out there, so this narrative could link to poor or high class of working classment.
- Beer - The reason why I've chosen the beer is that i want to use it as a key symbol for my narrative of my music video, with beer it stereotypes at a target audience, teenagers and young adults and students will be mainly gazed upon with the symbol of beer. But I want to draw the negative side.
- Radio one - This is an example of where to look for music to represent my target audience and what everyone is looking for and wanting to listen to. The music that's presented on radio one is 'mainstream' music as radio is probably the most popular radio station in the world.
- The rest - To represent an rough cover of my mise en scene, I may not use these as mise en scene but it my link to the representation of narrative.

storyboard of my music video
Looking more into detial of an indivual students work and comparing to my music video
Demo Kid - She Makes My Heart Go
As this piece of work got an high level from individual work I am going to analysis this to look for position of camera and where the person is stood, also the background, mise en scene, and any connections or ideas that can be developed upon and transferred in my video.
Basically through out this video its just the individual singer and the background is put into action with the use of the green screen, this right away is a problem between connections, I would love to use this but our schools resources does not simply have that advance equipment, so when watching videos like this I need to try and blank out the use of the green screen.
An back up plan is that I do art A levels I can draw onto paper scan the image and add it in to the video, but the only problem is that is might be boring and tacky which I don't want.
Looking through more influences in music video
Looking through the video I found alot of things to take into consideration and found good elements that I can use for my music video;
I like this intro of the clip, looking the camera work this I what I wanted to look at there is also camera work like this from a film of Ben stiller and jack black in envy, the intro shows a 180 turn, I cannot find this intro so this is a good example to find.
The camera work can slow the music clip down which in my music video the tempo of the beat go fast and slow, also in the middle of my music video I wanted to use a version on the Singer laying on the ground so I can maybe use this affect to help me.
I like also how the background is blurred out giving a more mysterious atmosphere.
Also looking at the mise en scene I like the time of day giving it an Autumn kind of affect with the brown leaves and dead trees in the background and clothes that they are wearing.
I want to use this kind of setting for a bit in my music video maybe on a park or a field.
Also when flickering to person to person I could dress my other character up into a homeless person to show what he could end up like as he see's an homeless person on the floor.
I like the camera work yet again on this, it cover thing such as 'point of view' shot. This can show emotion in my other character (narrative) I can show his body language and also views towards his environment and how he reacts to different people.
This affect in my video could be used as walking back from his interview looking at a homeless person and shows his emotion through the person of what he could end up as and this can lead on to the comparison of the narrative.
So from this I can use camera work to cut of timeline which is a big help as I wanted to over complicate things and it would not work when pen came paper of my storyboard, so using this it will keep the audience entertainment in abstraction, I may use mirrors with this kind of affect as well as the image will be inverted and the audience will have an artistic mise en scene and throughout will keep them entertained.
